Necklace with Elongated Leaf pattern
Necklace with Elongated Leaf pattern
The elongated leaf pattern on this pendant originates in the designs of my Interrupted Pattern series. It involves a playful re-imagination and arrangement of the simple leaf pattern. Whilst some are reminiscent of wheat or barley corn shapes, others are more akin to repetitive or abstract flower patterns. You can read the whole story behind this collection in my June 2022 Blog.
The large oval pendant is heavily textured and gently curves towards the back. It is decorated with a delicate leaf pattern, using 24ct (fine) gold in the ancient technique of Keum-Boo. The pattern is reminiscent of the decorations on ancient Greek ceramics.
The pendant is threaded onto 3 rows of a flexible, stainless- steel neck-wire with a double-clip clasp, which sit just below the neck-line, making the necklace an easy pleasure to wear to any occasion.
The spiral steel neck-wire was sourced from a company which produces this extremely flexible wire which is made by winding a flat wire around a specially constructed centre. This ensures maximum protection against kinking of the wire.
Materials: Recycled sterling silver, recycled 24ct (fine) gold foil (13 microns thick). All jewellery is hand-made by myself in my workshop and all pieces are hallmarked at the London Assay Office.
